Technologies for Better Living

Harbor Heights employs WIFI throughout our community to enhance the lives of our residents, keeping them safe and connecting them with loved ones.

A resident’s individualized care plan may include one or several monitoring tools, such as an emergency call pendant, apartment motion monitors, or a digital wristwatch to monitor vitals and daily activities. Specially Trained Harbor Heights staff members can receive an alert when there is a prolonged lack of activity or unusual activity, which can indicate that a resident is injured or may be struggling with issues related to mobility or depression. Our highly trained care professionals can intervene quickly to prevent a more serious health crisis, and also provide important information to other family members and health care providers.

All assisted living units come with emergency pull cords in each apartment, while memory care housing includes touchpads in the bathroom for emergency assistance. Both assisted living and memory care residents also have the option to request in-room tablets with touch-screen displays, which are used to communicate with residents in a non-intrusive way. Instead of a knock on the door, which may catch someone off guard, residents can receive friendly video messages inviting them to the dining room for a meal or letting them know when a program is about to begin
